Holy cats! I hadn't realized how many new subscribers had joined over the last couple months. I'm truly touched, and I appreciate every one of you joining my mailing list more than I can put in a quick email newsletter. Thank you.

I've had a couple conversations recently about how so much Bride of Frankenstein art depicts a romantic relationship between the Bride and Frankenstein's monster, but the bride didn't want to exist just to be a bride to the monster.

From those conversations and, honestly, as a reflection of the current state of everything I drew this up the other morning. I had been thinking of it for quite awhile, but finally sat down to draw it the other morning. It's amazing how many of my favorite arts come from waking up early after a night of not being able to sleep. I did a couple rough sketches planning a cleaner design, but then doodled this straight out of my favorite brush pen (a Pentel Pocketbrush: https://www.dickblick.com/products/pentel-pocket-brush-pen/ -not an affiliate link, I just like this pen a lot!) and I think the energy in the lines and texture really sell the emotion.
